How it compares

Estate Royale is played in the style of Monopoly: colour groups, escalating rent, houses and hotels, and the slow squeeze that decides the game long before anyone actually goes bankrupt. The board, properties and card decks are our own.

How to play Estate Royale

  1. 1Start a room. Open Estate Royale, pick a name and avatar, and create a room. Share the six-character code with 1 to 5 other players.
  2. 2Roll and move. On your turn you roll two dice and move that many spaces around the board.
  3. 3Buy or pay. Land on an unowned property and you may buy it. Land on someone else's and you pay them rent.
  4. 4Complete a colour group. Own every property of one colour and you can start building. Rent climbs sharply with each house.
  5. 5Trade. Deals between players are usually what breaks a stalemate — trade the property someone needs for the one you do.
  6. 6Outlast everyone. A player who cannot pay is out. The last player still solvent wins.
